METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES is an action-adventure stealth game developed by Kojima Productions. It was released on March 18, 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

The game is set in 1975, one year after the events of METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER. The player controls Snake, a legendary soldier who is tasked with infiltrating a prison facility known as Camp Omega in Cuba. The mission is to rescue two hostages, Chico and Paz, who have vital information about Snake's enemy.

The game features an open-world environment that allows players to approach missions using different tactics and strategies. Players can choose to execute their missions loud and aggressively, or stealthily and covertly. The game also introduces new gameplay mechanics such as the ability to tag enemies and mark locations and objectives.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES serves as a prologue to METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN. It received generally positive reviews from critics for its gameplay mechanics, visuals, and open-world design.
